ComputerWorld Smithsonian Award
The ''Computerworld'' Smithsonian Award is given out annually to individuals who have used technology to produce beneficial changes for society. Nominees are proposed by a group of 100 CEOs of information technology companies. * 1992 — Red Whittaker, a roboticist and research professor of robotics at Carnegie Mellon University. Subsequently, he led a team to victory in the 2007 DARPA Grand Challenge.
